USDT TRC20 AML check before you buy or deposit

You can run a USDT TRC20 AML check for free: paste a Tron address, the kind that starts with T. The bot asks the Tron network 10 times in a row, using the same databases exchanges screen deposits with: Binance AML, AMLBot, PureFi, and TRM Labs. The answer is one Tron row plus a result for the address.

The check needs no sign-up and doesn’t show a balance. It answers one question before the transfer: will AML databases decline this address?

By the Is Flagged? editorial team · updated October 4, 2026

The check opens in our Telegram bot and starts right away. Free, no sign-up, up to 10 checks an hour.

Why do TRC20 addresses get checked more than others?

USDT on Tron has become the main currency of P2P trades and of transfers between exchanges: fees are low, and almost anyone who has bought crypto knows the address format. So questionable money moves over TRC20 as well, and exchanges watch deposits on this network especially closely.

In practice, an AML freeze most often hits a TRC20 deposit made after a P2P purchase. The seller may have come by the coins honestly, but the coins’ history runs through flagged addresses, and the questions go to the buyer.

Checking the seller’s address before the deal is a single step, and it removes most of that risk.

What does a TRC20 address look like, and how do you tell the networks apart?

A Tron address always starts with a capital T and has 34 characters, leaving out the ones that are easy to confuse (0, O, I, l). USDT addresses on Ethereum (ERC20) and BNB Chain (BEP20) look different: 0x followed by 40 characters.

NetworkUSDT standardWhat the address looks like
TronTRC20T…, 34 characters
EthereumERC200x plus 40 characters
BNB ChainBEP200x plus 40 characters

You don’t need to pick the network: the check reads it from the address format. Paste a 0x address and the bot checks the EVM networks instead; the USDT BEP20 page explains how that works.

How is an AML flag different from a Tether freeze?

They are two separate mechanisms, and people often mix them up. Tether, the issuer of USDT, keeps its own list of frozen addresses. Once an address is on it, the USDT there stops moving on the blockchain itself, and no exchange will accept it.

An AML flag is a label in an analytics database. The address itself keeps working, but an exchange that uses that database will refuse the deposit or freeze it for review.

  • our check shows the answer of the AML databases: whether they decline the address
  • we don’t check Tether’s freeze list; for that, look the address up in a Tron explorer
  • having no AML flags doesn’t mean the issuer hasn’t frozen the address, and the reverse holds too

What will the report show for a Tron address?

A Tron address gets one row in the report: the Tron network and 10 attempts in a row. Each cell in the strip is one attempt: declined, passed, or left with no reply. A single refusal is enough for the network to decline the address, because a flagged address occasionally slips past one attempt.

“Address is flagged in AML databases” means an exchange will most likely reject a transfer to it. “No grounds for blocking found” describes only the moment of the check; the exchange still makes the deposit decision. Each result is explained in the guide on the home page.

When should you check a USDT TRC20 address?

  1. Before a P2P purchase: ask the seller for the address the USDT will come from, and check it.
  2. Before an exchange deposit: check your own address if strangers have sent money to it.
  3. Before paying someone: check the recipient’s address so the transfer doesn’t get stuck on their side.
  4. After a long break: a result describes the moment of the check, and the databases update every day.

Common questions

Do I need to pick the network if the address starts with T?

No. The network is detected from the address format, and the token plays no part: the result applies to the whole address.

Does the check show the balance and transactions?

No. That’s a blockchain explorer’s job, Tronscan for example. We answer a different question: will the AML databases exchanges use decline this address?

Can I check a TRC20 address right in Telegram?

Yes. Send the address to @isflaggedbot and the check starts right away. How the bot works is covered on the AML check bot in Telegram page.

How many free checks do I get?

Up to 10 checks an hour per person. You can re-check the same address after 10 minutes.
